Two
tips for creating more time Vs managing time
Be
10 minutes early to everything
Allow yourself to collect your thoughts, relax and take in your environment., These 10 min are a reserve of time you build in for yourself so you can respond to the unexpected, like traffic. These 10 minutes are not extra, but time you have created for yourself.
Say
“No” before saying “Yes”
If you want to say yes to something new, it is vital to take a look at everything on your platter and first say “No” to something there.
Three ways to communicate
successfully
It
is easier to say in hindsight then do in the heat of the moment. Mastering the art of communication is a
process and it takes lots of practice.
Own
what’s yours
Remember that each of you has a part and a side in the situation. Practice the principle of responsibility by
taking ownership of your part and letting the other person take ownership for
their part. Only speak what you know to
be true for you rather that saying what the other person wants to hear. Know
how far you will go and don’t go beyond it.
Come
from a Natural place
Always use “I” instead of you. Take a time out if things get heated. If you are emotionally charged, it’s usually something from your past that you are reacting to rather that the person in the moment. Fed the anger and then return to a natural frame of mind. Then come back to the conversation where you can respond from a natural place rather that reacting emotionally.
Keep
an Open Heart
Never close your heart to the other person because you will
be the one who suffers. Resist the urge
to cut always. Be patient and compassionate with yourself
and the other person Accept
your different perspectives and work
towards the middle ground
for harmony and good relations by keeping your heart open.
Practice makes perfect, and there is no time like the present to get started. Take the risk and begin to communicate successfully today.
Small
steps for big results
“The Toddler’s
Method to success” Toddlers
instinctively know that taking small steps
over a concentrated period of time will result in achieving
the large goal. The same holds true
for you, too. choice a project or goal that you have
been putting off because
it seemed like too much work to
accomplish break it down
into small manageable steps. Schedule
each small step into your calendar this week.
Mark off each small step as you complete it. See how much easier it is to
accomplish the project or goal that once seemed overwhelming, simply by doing
it in small steps.
