Reconnecting with your
creative self
Creativity
is a gift to each and every one of us in a form that is unique to each of
us. Creativity is oxygen for our souls.
Cutting off our creativity make us savage. We need to create what wants to be
created. Start bringing into your everyday
life more expression of your creativity.
And vibrant colors to
your wardrobe, redecorate your
office take a writing or a dance
class, creativity solve a work
related problem help your child with
a science project, make something
special (food or otherwise) for a loved one.
Rather
than the master piece, go for the joy
of the creative process. Your
creativity wants to be expressed and for many
of you, its crying out for expression, choose one area
where you would like
to start playing with your
creativity . Even if you think
you don’t have one
creative bone in your today,
try it any way and start small.
Less is More “An innovative
way to organize your day
The secret
lies in its simplicity. Adopt a new mind
set, not just intellectually but with a believing heart too. The way is “The Daily three”. The daily three is practice you care immediately
begin to implement every single day. It’s simple, practical and doable. It’s
about selecting the top three priorities you absolutely must
get done by the end
of the day no matter what. They
are your priorities. They are those priorities that if you
accomplished them by the end of
day you can say “ Now
today I got a lot done and feel
good about it.
Procrastination can be your
friend
Procrastination
usually happens when you experience these three things
Being overwhelmed by the size or complexity
of the task or situation.
Feeling inadequate or incapable of doing
the project.
Lacking interest in the goal.
The
first two love to do with procrastination as a foe. The third has to do with procrastination as a
friend something we don’t often consider and what this nugget is all about:-
Ask yourself
where it is you are procrastinating.
Take an honest look at
whether your procrastination is a friend
or foe. If it’s a friend, spend
some quiet time this week listening to what
your still small voice
is trying to tell you and reflect upon it. Change
the goal, project or task
to fit who you are
and what interests you Then
identify and take the
action steps necessary to reach your new goal.
The Underlying source of
procrastination
The
first step is to recognize the underlying source of procrastination. That underlying source of procrastination is
fear. Fear can show
up in these ways, fear of feature , fear of looking stupid, fear of not being perfect, fear of
success or fear of taking a risk
etc.
Choose
one specific situation where you are procrastinating. If the procrastination is a foe, look at the
source of your underlying fear. Is it the fear of failure? Fear of success? Fear
of rejection? Fear of not being good enough?
