Art of Negotiation


Maintain decorum at all stages of discussion.

Observe proper protocol in negotiation process.

Easier to impress clients and conduct the process with equanimity & goodwill provided you understand and apply the etiquette associated with negotiation.

Have patience & practice diplomacy.

Approach with open mind without any bias.

Improper negotiations are unprofessional.

Ascertain the date & time for the discussion in advance so both parties get enough time to prepare.

Taking time off to establish rapport is important aspect of the negotiation process.

A warm smile & firm hand shake is a must.

Engage in short friendly conversation unrelated to issue before starting and closing the negotiation each day.

Know each other’s culture. Decorum differs greatly across culture. Respect and appreciate others cultural norms and traditions. This creates mutual respect and brings about win-win situation.

Make room for compromises.
