War on Terror: What should be done?

Securing the Home Front- Need of a single   unified internal security set up to guard India against major terror strikes.

Tackling Pakistan   - Neutralizing Pakistan requires pressure on multiple fronts. The buzz is “Smart Strategy”.

Overhauling the Police-  Radically changing the image   and status of men in khaki for    them to become weapon against terror.

Modernizing the NSG-   Mumbai, exposed the inadequacies of our best anti terror force.  The short fall needs to be addressed most seriously to have a repeat show.

Upgrading Intelligence-  If terror strikes have to be thwarted, intelligence gathering has to be coordinated and accordingly acted upon.

Safeguarding Megatactice- Build  a security  fortress around  Delhi and  Mumbai  so that    they are  capable  of tackling  any kind  of  emergency  independently.

Plugging vulnerable zones-   Indian borders continues to be porous.   With attacks from the sea posing a new threat, there is a need for water tight coastal security strategy.

Toughening  the Law-  The legal  frame  work needs to be  hardened  to make  the perpetrators  of terror  pay heavily.

Squeezing Terror Funding - Clamping down  on the  flow of money that nourishes  the monster  and keeping  a close  watch  on  explosive  substances by now an  imperative.

Strengthening the Armed Forces- Indian Armed Forces  must modernize  and move to  hi-tech  precision   strikes  to take  on  non  state advisories   as well as traditional  rivals.

Winning Kashmir    We need to tackle  the  valleys  discontent  by dealing how much  autonomy  Kashmir  requires  and working  a way out  to negotiate  with Pakistan .

Citizens Charter-    As  citizen  we can help  bring  about  the change  we want  by fulfilling  our duties  and keeping  the pressure  on the  government  to deliver.
