Effective Communication



Communication must be differentiated from talking.  Talking is one of the ways of communication.

Talking, e-mail, presentation, writing memos and letters are few means of communication.

While talking or addressing one has to be polite and make viewpoints, ideas and orders explicit.  Always ascertain that the message has been understood.

Art of e-mail

Must cover the entire topic in a clear manner.

Text matter should be limited in the slides.

Each slide should have only three Hour bullet points.

Figures, diagrams and graphs must be used.

Color combination must be pleasing to eyes.

Should not take more that 45 min at the maximum.

Presenter must make eye contact with audience

Presenter posture, tone must be formal not too casual or stiff.

Can use an occasional joke relevant to topic

Tell audience that you will take question in the end.
