Making Team Srong by Managers

As a manager you are only as good as your team.  You succeed or fail through others.  So you must always endeavor to build strong teams that support and sustain success. The team should complement each other not complete with each other.

A good team does not automatically guarantee success. Following are five suggestion to correct low output and make team strong:- 

            Early warning  

            Plan and prepare  
            Install effective control and monitoring system
            Spot poor performer and make amends in time
            Identify Reasons

           Poor performance could be because of different reasons, such as:- 

                        Lack of energy and enthusiasm
                        Contentment with Mediocre performance
                        Resistance to new ideas
                        Refusal to collaborate with others
                        Failure to learn from mistakes 

            Make amends

            Take quick steps to fix the gap
            Revamp the work culture to create more supportive climate
Don’t leave scope for ambiguity while defining goals, objectives and expectations   from every individual and team 

            Development plans 

Sit with every team member to identify his strengths and short coming
at regular intervals
            Build appropriate development plans in collaboration with them.
            Find right assignment to each individual
            Live opportunity to show their talents
             Provide them scope to stretch and grow
            Assign them goals that are challenging and achievable
Ensure built in feedback system.  Feedback should come from you, others and work itself. 

            Recognize
            Give credit where due.  Thank for job well done
            Prompt recognition creates high performance culture
            Maintain a fair performance system
            Show respect to your team
            Keep their best interest in mind 

Integrity and honesty  is absolutely  essential  to build strong  team that propel success.
