Desire to fit too
much into a fixed span of time is pervasive and technology merely adds to
pressure.
Realize that we can’t
read everything, can’t keep ourselves entertained every available moment, can’t
absorb or even catch all the information.
We have to make choice which requires unhurried mind.
Make wise choice what
you read. Read only necessary or worthwhile. Take time to read carefully. A good book is the purest essence of a human
soul. Read slowly with complete
attention. Close the book and reflect on
what you have read. Read one good book
with concentration than to skim through a list of best sellers with TV, when
there is nothing worth watching switch it off.
A truly creative mind
has a long attention span. A mind that
is fast is sick. A mind that is slow is
sound. A mind that is still is divine.
No amount of
nutrition and exercise can protect us against the ravages of an untrained mind.
Every conversation is
an opportunity for training the mind to be one pointed.
Effortless
concentration is the secret of all personal relationship. NO thrill is greater than that of winning
over a tough opponent to be an ally.
When concentration is
deep. We may forget our body completely. We may forget altogether about the dearest of
subjects ourselves. This is the real
secret of happiness.
