How Managers Should Tackle New Recruits

Do not expect them to perform consistently well from the moment they are aboard.

Give them enough time to adapt to new environment.

In the initial days of their job, managers should focus on building strong relationship with employees.

Apart from training them for job specific skill, they should be educated about the values and culture of the organization.

They should invest sufficient time to define their job and discuss about the expected deliverables.

Understand the mindset, expectations and personal style of new recruits.

Be in constant touch with them for at least a year to guide them.

Utilize the new hires energy and unique skills instead of criticizing his shortcomings.

Appreciate their good work and help them overcome their weakness.
