Key Feathers of Model School



Education provided in a model school should be holistic and integral touching upon physical, emotional and aesthetic development in addition to academic.

Either brand new schools may be established or existing schools may be converted into model schools

Necessary infrastructure must be provided in such schools not only for satisfying teaching needs but also for sports and co curricular activities.

The curriculum should cast the local culture and environment and learning should be activity based.

These schools must have   internet connectivity and full time computer teachers.

The teacher pupil  ratio  should not  exceed 1: 25,  and the  class rooms  must be  spacious  enough  to accommodate  at least  30 students .  However class room’s student’s ratio should not exceed 1: 40.

These schools must be provided with arts and music    teachers, besides subject’s specific teachers as per the usual norms. These schools must also create facility for activities   emphasizing Indian heritage and art and craft.


RAGGING HAS BEEN DEFINED

As any conduct by way of words or action which teases, treats or handles fresher’s with rudeness.

Rowdy  or undisciplined  activity  which  might  cause  annoyance,  hardship  or psychological  harm to  fresher’s.

Making fresher’s perform something which causes shame and embarrassment in them.


WHAT ALL AMOUNTS TO RAGGING

·        Abetment  to ragging

·        Criminal  conspiracy  to rag

·        Public  nuisance  created  during  ragging

·        Violation  of decency  and morals  through it

·        Injury  to body  causing  hurt  to grievous  hurt

·        Wrongful  confinement 

·        Use of criminal force

·        Assault  or sexual/unnatural of fences

·        Extortion

·        Criminal trespass

·        Offences  against   property

·        Criminal intimidation 

·        Attempts  to commit  any  or all of  above mention  offences

·        Physical or psychological  humiliation


IF CAUGHT? 

·        Suspension  from attending  classes and academic  privileges

·        Deprived  of scholarship/fellowship and other  benefits

·        Debarred from appearing  in any  test/exam

·        Denied result  as  it  could withheld 

·        Expelled  from  hostel  and admission get cancelled

·        Debarred from representing university in any event

·        Restricted from institute  for 1 to 4 semesters

·        Expelled from institute

·        Debarred from gaining admission  in other  institute 

·        Imposed upon fine of Rs 25000 to Rs 1 lakh 

·        Put to  collective punishment
