RIGHT REINFORCEMNT METHODS BEGETS COMPLIANCE TO RULES


·         Manager’s primary job is to extract the best from the employees and help them improve their competence. Understand their nature and identify their abilities and inability. Use reinforcements to improve on their strengths and overcome weakness.

·         Reinforcements are the action taken to encourage a particular kind of behavior in a person. They can be positive and negative.

·         Positive reinforcement is where you reward desirable behavior. The techniques are verbal praise, challenging assignments, motivational and inspirational sessions, pay hike and promotion etc.

·         Negative reinforcement focuses on repressing negative behavior, which forces practice of desired behavior the technique includes disciplinary actions, insults and demotion.

·         Be careful in choosing between positive and negative reinforcement. The way positive reinforcements are carried out is more important than the amount.

·         Wrong use of negative reinforcement can be more severe, may feel defeated, lose self-confidence and cease to act. They affect person sub conscious mind.

·         Before opting for the reinforcement you should know the mindset of the individual.

·         Positive reinforcements generally results in greater and long lasting effects. Works for the most people in most of the situations. Whereas negative reinforcements are used in trying situations.
