Being a manager / holding an appointment does not help you
to become a leader, unless you are capable of extracting positive results from
them / team. As a leader you need to diagnose the reasons for their under performance
and help them to explore the creative solutions. Following are few clues that

Communicate clearly & define
respective roles.
List out priorities.
Provide resources.
Ensure completion of task in stipulated
time frame.
Clarify the reasons why this team
has been selected.
Clarify performance standard expected.
2. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS
Small & occasional breaks improve relations.
Allow time to relax. Organize fun filled recreational activities. This
foster good
communication & synergy among them.
This help in understanding
their mutual strength and weakness.
3. ENCOURAGE LEARNING
Team member needs to be
trained well to face uncertainties of the professions.
Ensure everyone has necessary
skills and knowledge to perform their task efficiently.
Provide them reasonable
training.
Hold everyone in the team
accountable.
Simplify assignment by
dividing among the team as a whole.
4. RIGHT ENVIRONMENT
Individual recognition is the
best motivation.
Don’t get after on mistakes
but create an environment that encourages the team to perform well.
Give
them necessary authority and decision making power to motivate them.
Appreciation
keeps them in good spirit and encourages them. Acknowledge them for
