How to Overcome OLd Habits



Before moving forward look at the old habits, recognize what is wrong with them and then proceed to learning new things.
Proceeding to learn new ways while being unable to unlearn old ways will result in future.
The ability to over come old unproductive habits determines a person’s success both in professional & personal life.
80% of human life is spent on following daily routing, which do not require thinking. Repetitive actions putting us on auto pilot mode. Therefore any change is resisted & becomes difficult.
Shedding old habits that do not contribute to personal growth broadly involves the following stages.

CONVINCING YOURSELF:
 
Convince yourself for the necessity of change.
Carefully observe your actions and forcefully eliminate the temptations to go back to old ways and stay on track.

RETHINKING YOUR DECISIONS:

You may be in a habit of being very social and friendly with people. And if it has landed you in trouble, pause before you rush to make friends with new person.
As long as you know how to set boundaries and develop professional relationship with boss, colleagues, subordinates, friends, acquaintances it’s just fine.
Always rethink your actions when trying to change the way you do something.

LEARN THE NEW HABIT:

See how you are going to incorporate them into your daily routine so that they add value to your life style.
To get accustomed to new habit you should enjoy doing it.
Explore easy ways of doing the task.
Always keep in mind what benefit you are going to drive out of it.
Do not get bogged down by failure and give up the effort.

BEING RECEPTIVE TO OTHERS:

Listen to others experience, they provide tips to overcome potential obstacles and provide motivations to keep you going.
All happiness & success comes to the person who overcomes old routine habits when the need arises & learns new ways to go ahead with life changes & challenges.
