I am Fine, Thank you

There is nothing the matter with me.
I am as healthy as I can be
I have arthritics in both my knees
And when I talk, I talk with wheeze my pulse is
weak and my blood is thin
But I am awfully well for the shape I’m in

Arch support I have for my feet
Or I wouldn’t be able to be on the street
Sleep is denied me night after night
But every morning I find I’m all right.
My memory is failing; my head is in a spin,
But I am awfully well for the shape I, m in.

The morale is this as my tale I unfold,
that for you and me who are growing old
It is better to say I’m fine with a grin,
Then to let folks know the shape we are in.

How do I know that my youth is all spent?
Well, my “get up and go” has got up and went.
But I really don’t mind when I think with a grin
Of all the grand places my “Get up” has been.

Old age is golden I‘ve heard it said,
But sometimes, I wonder as I get into bed
With my ears in the drawers, my teeth in the cup
My eyes on the table until I wake up
Eternal sleep overtake’s me, I say to myself,
Is there anything else I could lay on the shelf?

When I was young my slippers were red
I could kick my heals over my head
When I was older my sleeper’s were blue
But still I could dance the whole night through
Now I m old my slippers are black
I walk to the store and pull my way back.

I get up each morning and dust off my wits
And pick up the paper and read the “obits”
If my name is still missing I know I’ m not dead so,
I have a good breakfast and go back to bed.

Why do Men have Dogs and not Wives

The late you are, the more excited your dog is to see you.
Dog don’t notice if you call them by another dog’s name.
Dogs like it if you leave a lot of things on the floor.
Dog’s parents never visit.
Dogs agree that you have to raise your voice to get your point across.
You never have to wait for a dog; they are ready to go 24 hrs a day.
Dogs find you answering when you tell jokes.
Dogs like to go hunting and fishing.
A dog will hot wake up at night to ask, if I died, would you get another dog.
If a dog has babies, you can put and an ad in the paper and give them away.
A dog will let you put a studded collar on it without calling you a pervert.
If a dog smells another dog on you, they don’t get mad they just
think it’s just interesting.
Dogs like to ride in the back of a pickup truck.
If a dog leaves, it won’t take half of your stuff.
Ultimate test, lick your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car for an hour then open the trunk and see who is the happiest to see you.

Sometimes

 Sometimes

Sometimes people come into your life
And you know right away that they were meant
to be there to serve some sort of purpose.
Teach you a lesson or help you figure out who you
are or who you want to become.
You never know who these people may be,
Possibly your roommate, neighbor or professor,
long lost friend, lover or even a complete stranger.

But when you lock eyes with them,
you know at that very moment they will affect
your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happens to you that way
seem horrible painful and unfair at first but,
in reflection you find that without overcoming
those obstacles you would have never realized
your potential strength, willpower or heart.

Everything happens for a reason.
Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck,
Illness, injury love, lost moment of true greatness
and sheer stupidity all occur to test the unit of your soul.
Without these test whatever they may be life
would be like a smoothly paved straight,
flat road to nowhere.
It would be safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet who affect your life
and the success and downfalls you experience
help to create who you are and who you become.
Even the bad experiences can be learned from,
in fact they are probably the most poignant and important
ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or break your heart
forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust
and the importance of being cautious, to when you open
your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally
not only because they love you but because in a way
they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart
and eyes to things make every day count.

Appreciate every moment and take from those moments
everything that you possibly can for you may never
be able to experience again.

Talk to people that you have talked to before and actually listen.
Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.
Hold your head up because you have every right to.
Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself
for if you don’t believe in yourself,
it will be hard for others to believe in you.
You can make of your life anything you wish.
Create your own life and then go out and live
it with absolutely no regrets.
Most importantly if you love someone tell them,
for you never know what tomorrow may have in store,
and learn a lesson in life each day you live.

Life’s journey is not to arrive at the
Grave safely in a well preserve body.
